Alice Louise Barrett, age 88, of Hustler, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday October 21, 2017 at the Fair View Nursing Home in Mauston, WI.
Alice was born on July 17, 1929 to Frank and Grace (Bires) Carlsen, on the family farm in the Town of Orange in Juneau County. She was a 1947 graduate of New Lisbon High School. Alice was united in marriage to Edgar G. Barrett on Oct. 30, 1948 at St. James Catholic Church in Camp Douglas, WI, to this union 12 children were born.
Alice was a member of the Peppy Pals Homemaker Club for many years, she was an active member of St. James Catholic Parish her whole life, and she taught CCD there for 15 years. Alice also cooked for many years at the Fountain Mission Home in Hustler, and was the Hustler Village Clerk for several years. Alice was a founding member of the Hustler Booster Club. She was an avid and loyal Green Bay Packers fan, she also enjoyed Bingo, doing word search games, and playing Dominos.
Alice is survived by her children: Linda (Lowell) Davis of Dubuque IA, Rick (Janet) Barrett of New Lisbon WI, Nancy (Paul) Faulkner of New Lisbon WI, Wayne (Kathy) Barrett of Ontario WI, Mary Korb of Daggett MI, Sue (Michael) Brattland of Lakeville MN, Terry Barrett of Austin MN, Audery (Clark) Bennett of Shullsburg WI, Kelly (Gary) Hauser of La Crosse WI, and by 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, by her sisters; Marian Albertini of Chicago, Colette (Rudy) Belmont of Chicago, and Ardell Ross of Sarasota FL. And her brother-in-law Ron Parmenter of New Lisbon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband Edgar in 2002, a daughter Rita, a son Robert, a daughter in infancy, and a sister Diane Parmenter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday October 26, 2017 at 10:30A.M. at St. James Catholic Church (100 Bartell St.) in Camp Douglas, WI with Fr. Robert Letona presiding. Burial will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the Hare Funeral Home (217 W.
