Elizabeth “Betty” Frantal, age 99, of rural New Lisbon died on Thursday October 19, 2017 at Crest View Nursing Home in New Lisbon.  Betty was born in Czechoslovakia on October 9, 1918 to Stefan and Ana (Zmeko) Vicik.  After attending school in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Betty came to the United States when she was 18 years old and lived in Chicago, IL. She worked for Campbells Soup while in Chicago. She later moved to her aunt’s house in Ladysmith, WI.  While in Chicago she met Anthony S. Frantal, and they were married on February 8, 1942 in Chicago. To this union 4 children were born; Richard, Robert, Rita, and Jeanie. 

Betty enjoyed cooking, gardening and was an excellent baker.  She also enjoyed going fishing with family and her friends.

Betty is survived by her children Richard (Cheri) Frantal of New Lisbon, Robert (Mary) Frantal of Mauston, Rita (Jack) Jasinski of Necedah, and Jeanie (Gary) Pflueger of San Diego, CA, and by 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tony in 1986, and 1 sister and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Monday October 23, 2017 at 11:00A.M. at the Hare Funeral Home (217 W Pearl St.) in New Lisbon.  Relatives and friends may call on Monday at the Hare Funeral Home from 10:00A.M. till the time of service.  Burial will be in the Bay View Cemetery in Necedah, WI.  Online condolences are available at www.harefuneralhome.com
