Ella Ullman Michalek, 95, of Camp Douglas, WI, died on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Cottage Care Circle assisted living facility, Mauston, Wisconsin. Ella was the daughter Charles and Mary (Zeman) Ullman and was born on February 23, 1921 on the family farm near Necedah. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Necedah High School. She was united in marriage to George Michalek on July 28, 1940, in Nekoosa, Wisconsin. Ella attended Mid State Vocational Technical School in Wisconsin Rapids and later taught tailoring, 'cut to fit' and floral arrangement.
Ella and George had a pine tree farm in Armenia which was managed by the county forester. They later purchased the family farm in Cutler Township. Ella was an active member of the Necedah High School Alumni Association. She participated in student scholarship selections and musicals. She was also an active member of the Cutler Fire Company women’s auxiliary. She was a faithful servant of God at the New Lisbon United Methodist Church.
Ella is survived by her nieces, Nona Bailey, of Portland, Oregon area, and Dr. Susan Delaney of Vista, California, and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, brothers Edward and Charles Ullman, and a sister Mary Ullman McLaughlin. With Ella’s passing, so ends the Ullman-Zeman generation.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday February 17, 2017 at 11:30am, at the New Lisbon Community Center (110 Welch Prairie Rd). Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the New Lisbon Community Center from 10:00am until the time of service. Rev. Deb Burkhalter presiding.
