Gladys L. Parmenter, age 98, of New Lisbon died on Thursday Dec. 1, 2016 at the Crest View Nursing Home in New Lisbon.  Gladys was the daughter of Earl and Nellie (Anthony) Nuttall and was born on January 30, 1918 in Juneau County Town of Lisbon.  She was united in marriage to Merlin H. Parmenter on July 2, 1936 in Sparta, WI.   They lived in La Crosse County until 1949 when they moved back to New Lisbon.  .

Gladys worked at Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston for 25 years.  She lived on a farm that was homesteaded by her Great Great Grandfather in 1853.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of New Lisbon

She was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband Merlin in 1995, a sister Lucille Rule, Brothers Howard, Arland,  Avery,  Donald, and Marvin Nuttall, her daughter-in-law Dianne Parmenter, a grand daughter-in-law Rhonda Kasten, a sister-in-law Irene Nuttall.

Gladys in survived by her son Ronald Parmenter of New Lisbon and daughter Sheryl (Jim) Massari of La Valle, Wi, and by 4 grandchildren, Michelle (Glenn) Sullivan, Lisa MacAskill, Kristine Massari, and Rodney (Mindy) Parmenter, and  by 11 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday December 5, 2016 at 11:00a.m. at the Hare Funeral Home (217 W. Pearl St.) in New Lisbon, with Rev. Deb Burkhalter presiding.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday at the Hare Funeral Home from 9:00a.m. till the time of service.  Burial will be in the New Lisbon City Cemetery.
