Gustav R. Finkbeiner, age 100, of Necedah, died on November 1, 2017 at the Veterans Home in King, WI.

Gustav was the son of Gustav H. and Kunegunde (Scheurman) Finkbeiner and was born on June 19, 1917 in Chicago, IL.  The family moved to the Town of Necedah from Chicago in 1918 when Gustav was 1 year old.  Gustav entered into the U.S. Army in 1942 until 1946 he had served in the Philippians during WWII.  Gustav worked construction in California for a number of years.  He then returned to this area to work on the family farm and help with the Bakery in New Lisbon.  Gustav retired to the Veterans Home in King. WI in 2000.

Gustav is survived by a nephew Paul "Tuffy" Finkbeiner of Mauston, and a niece Bonnie Finkbeiner, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Alvin and Emil, his sisters: Mildred, Gladys and Flora.

A Memorial Graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday November 9, 2017 at 10:00A.M. at the New Lisbon City Cemetery.  The Hare Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.  Online condolences are available at www.harefuneralhome.com
