Howard E. Jacob, age 83, of New Lisbon (town of Germantown) died peacefully at his home on Tuesday October 10, 2017, with his family by his side. Howard was born on December 26, 1933 in Caledonia, WI, to Arthur and Elsie (Bethke) Jacob. Howard was raised in the Caledonia area and attended school there. Howard served as a paratrooper in the US Army from 1956-58.
Howard was united in marriage to Geneva "Neva" C. Hoyt on September 24, 1960 at St Louis Catholic Church in Caledonia, WI. After their marriage they continued you live in Caledonia, and Howard worked heavy construction in Milwaukee County installing city sewer lines and utilities and streets. He would also do landscaping and cement work on the weekends. He loved his garden, it was huge, Howard would grow it and Geneva would can it. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially all of the Ice Fishing with his buddy’s and friends on Castle Rock Lake. Howard retired from construction in 1990 and they moved to their home near Castle Rock Lake and have resided there since. While retired Howard worked for the Pine Cove Tavern for many years doing all the morning cleaning and maintenance.
Howard is survived by his wife of 57 years Geneva "Neva" of New Lisbon, 3 daughters; Brenda Jacob of Mauston WI, Julie Stuedemann of Caledonia WI, and Kristine Cattle of Mauston WI, and by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers Donald and Alvin.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday October 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Lawn Memorial Park (9000 Washington Ave.) Racine, WI.
