Leona G. O’Connor, age 89, of New Lisbon, WI died on Monday February 13, 2017 at her home.  Leona was the daughter of Ernest and Gertrude (Stackman) Franke and was born on January 6, 1928 in the town of Lindina. 

She graduated from Mauston High School in 1946. Leona worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Pleasant Acres, retiring after 23 years.

Leona married Edward O’Connor on May 14, 1949.  She was the love of Ed’s life.  To this union three children were born, Diane (deceased), Debra, and Edward Jr. 

Leona enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and gardening.

Leona is survived by her husband Edward, children, Debra (Robert) Jensen, of Greenleaf, WI, Edward (Donna) O’Connor Jr., of New Lisbon, 8 grandchildren, Kevin (Sarah) Jensen, Bradley Jensen, Edward T. O’Connor, Gail (Tim) Turner, Candace (Randy) Hall, Dan O’Connor, Keith (Amanda) O’Connor, Nanci Hoover, 7 great grandchildren, Tessa Turner, Bree Turner, Micah Turner, Edward M. O’Connor, Abigayle Jensen, Keith Noah O’Connor, Charlotte O’Connor, a brother and sister-in-law James (Maggie) O’Connor, and son-in-law Cecil Hoover.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Everett Franke and Reuben Franke, and by her daughter Diane. 

A special thank you to all her caregivers over the last two years.  A special thank you to Donna O’Connor, Jake Ballering and his daughter Cheyanne , and to Al and Arris Sullivan for their great care of Leona.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church, in New Lisbon.  Relatives and friends may call at the First Baptist Church on Monday from 9:00am until the time of service.  Pastor Delbert Oatsvall presiding.  Burial will take place in the New Lisbon City Cemetery.  Online guestbook available at www.harefuneralhome.com
