Robert L."Bob" Miller age 71 of New Lisbon passed away on Friday May 16, 2008 at the University Hospital in Madison due to complications from a stroke. He was the son of Roland and Alvina (Sarazin) Miller and was born on April 19, 1937 in Ashland, WI. Bob was raised in Sheboygan Falls, WI, were he also graduated from high school. He later attended Carroll College and received his masters degree from Winona State College. Bob played football, and wrestled in high school and college, he also played semipro football with the Sheboygan Redwings. He was united in marriage to Mary C. Bachus on June 30, 1962 in Sheboygan Falls, WI, and they moved to Mauston where Bob coached football and was the athletic director for many years. He was the first manager of the Alaskan Super Club, owned by his uncle Bob Sarazin. He and Mary started their own business selling park and recreation equipment in Wisconsin. He retired and enjoyed spending his time between Castle Rock Lake, Aruba, and Fort Meyers Beach Florida. Bob later became involved in Juneau County Government serving on the Juneau County Board, and was past chairman of Germantown Township. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, and a past Lions Club member. Bob liked boating and was an avid sports fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, and Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his wife Mary of New Lisbon, a son Michael of Elkhorn, WI, two daughters, Julie (William) Syverson of Waukesha, WI, and Debra (Doug) Strode of McFarland, WI, a sister Barbara (John) Burns of New Canaan, CT, a step-brother Leonard (Sherry) Lee of High Bridge, WI, and four grandsons, Eric, Griffin, Matthew, and Brett, and by his nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Elva, and a step-brother Richard Lee.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Mauston Ambulance, Hess Memorial Hospital, UW Med Flight, and the University Hospital Neurosurgery Department. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family to go to Med Flight and to the Neurosurgery Stroke Research at the University Hospital in Madison.

A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday May 21, 2008 at 10:00AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church in New Lisbon with Fr. John Paul Lobo presiding.
