Sonja Ann Butrick, age 74, of New Lisbon died on Monday October 23, 2017 at the Tomah Memorial Hospital.  Sonja was born on February 21, 1943 in Sacramento, CA.  After High School Sonja attended college for 3 years and received her Registered Nursing Degree. 

Sonja was united in marriage to Danny D. Butrick on January 9, 1974 in Sioux Falls, SD.  Sonja and Danny lived in many different places, because Danny was serving in the Military and they moved from state to state.  They have lived in Des Moines IA, New Lisbon for 18 years, North Dakota, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Washington DC, and back to New Lisbon in 2015.

Sonja enjoyed cooking for her family, some of the food grown in her garden, and the rest of the food she canned. She liked to play cards, and eating little candies.  Sonja was very good at giving advice.

Sonja is survived by her Husband Danny of New Lisbon, 2 sons; Brett (Laura) Butrick of Black Earth WI, Danny II (Sara) Butrick of Altoona IA, 2 daughters; Ruth (Kyle) Gregar of New Lisbon WI, and DeLane (Michael) Davis of Minnesota.  Also by 9 grandchildren; Emily Mara, Alex Mara, Patricia (Lucas) Klosterman, Hope Gregar, Kayle Gregar, Kelsi Gregar, Gianni Butrick, Kayden Butrick, and Zoey Butrick.  She was preceded in death by her mother Florence Malfi, daughter Kristine Mara, her sons John and Tom Shoemaker.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 27, 2017 at 7:00P.M. at the Hare Funeral Home (217 W. Pearl St.) in New Lisbon, with pastor John Barker presiding.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the Hare Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00P.M. until the time of service.  Online condolences are available at www.harefuneralhome.com
