Herman S. Matuszewski age 79 of Necedah died on Saturday May 5, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Cornell, WI. Herman was the son of Stanislaus and Wladyslave (Laskowska) Matuszewski and was born on January 25, 1933 in Poland. He and his family worked on a farm in Poland after the war. Herman came to the United States at the age of 14. Herman was united in marriage to Dian A. Mason on April 18, 1959 in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. Herman worked as a tool and die maker for many years. Herman and Dian moved to Necedah in 1991, and are members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Herman enjoyed fishing and deer hunting in Wisconsin. Herman is survived by his wife Dian of Necedah, and their 4 children, Steven (Jeanne) Matuszewski of Courtland, WI, George Matuszewski of Mexico, Suzanne (George) Cordalewski of Tomah, WI, and James (Susan) Matuszewski of Big Flats, WI, and by 2 brothers, Nicholas Matuszewski of Oaklahoma, Lucian Matuszewski of Chicago, IL, and a sister Helen Lucas of Texarkana, TX, and 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jania Gustek and a brother Marian Matuszewski.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday May 9, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Necedah, WI with Fr. Hector Moreno presiding. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Wednesday from 9:30am till the 11:00am time of service. Burial will be in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Cemetery.
