Jerry Wenger passed away peacefully in his home on April 3 , 2024. Jerry was born in Hollandale on October 14, 1936. He lived a vibrant life and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandson and great grandchildren doing anything outdoors. He was a semi-professional competitive fisherman where he also produced and starred in hunting and fishing shows on television. He spent the past few winters in Texas fishing on the Falcon Reservoir where he helped the park start classes teaching local kids about fishing. He was a member of the Thurber-Greenwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1916.
Jerry is survived by his brother John Wenger of Idaho, sisters Judy Schoenenberg of New York, Mary Hellwig (Norm) of Lufkin, TX, daughter Renee (Rick) Ellickson of Waunakee; Grandchildren Josh (Jordyn) Ellickson of Dane, Nicole Ellickson of Verona, Sarah Ellickson of Baraboo; Ethan (Andrya) Wenger of Belle Plaine, IA, Christopher Wenger of Black Earth and two Great-grandchildren River and Archer.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents John and Norma Wenger, brother Joe (Carol) Wenger, son Randy Wenger and great-grandson Jameson.
In respect of Jerry’s wishes there will be no public services. The family will hold a private ceremony honoring Jerry at a later date. If you would like to honor Jerry Wenger the family asks in lieu of flowers to make a donation to the Veterans affairs.
