Doris R. (Larson) McCay

Doris R. Larson McCay, age 90 of Waukesha, WI, (formerly of the town of Fountain) died on Thursday July 12, 2018 at the Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waukesha, WI.  Doris was born in the town of Fountain in Juneau County, WI, to Lester and Esther (Anderson) Larson on April 10, 1928.  Doris was raised in the town of Fountain and attended the New Lisbon Public School and graduated in 1946.  Doris was united in marriage to James Thomas McCay on August 28, 1950 at the Fountain Lutheran Church, Kendall, WI.

After their marriage they lived in Illinois for many years, later moving the Knoxville, TN for 30 years. where they owned and operated JDS Souvenirs.  Doris enjoyed writing poetry and has had several of her poems published.  

Doris is survived by 3 children; Shaun (John) Riedemann and Dayla Lockert both of Lake in the Hills, IL, and by Joel McCay of Taiwan, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, by her sister Evelyn Johanson of Waukesha, WI, and a brother Myles Larson of Florida, and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, brother Garfield Larson, son-in-law Earl Lockert, and brother-in-law Robert Noldan.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 17, 2018 at 1:00P.M. at the Fountain Lutheran Church (W10815 Church Rd) Kendall, WI with Pastor Jim Gerth and Rev. Virginia Rainey presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the church on Tuesday from 12:00P.M. until the time of service.  The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with services.
