Dorothy Adella Gibbons, age 87 of Camp Douglas, WI. passed away peacefully on February 21, 2019 at her home. Dorothy was the daughter of Ray and Catharine (Milne) Gordon and was born on July 18, 1931 in Vernon County, Wisconsin.
As a child she worked alongside her father on the family farm in Glendale Township. Later the family purchased a farm in New Lisbon where Dorothy graduated from High School in 1948. She married William Gibbons on July 3, 1948 on the Gordon farm in New Lisbon. She was 16 when she moved to the Gibbons family farm on Camp Hill and has lived there ever since. She was happy to live long enough to see the farm become a Centennial Farm.
Dorothy enjoyed reading, talking on the telephone with her sisters and brother, spending time with her family, and tending to farm chores. She had a love of nature, she enjoyed feeding birds, wildlife and her many pets.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Chet (Marie) of Green Bay, Judy (Chuck) JaDoul of Hillsboro, Pat Gibbons (Tony Kiel) of Sparta, Jerry (Kathy) of Hustler, Jim (Jennifer) of Camp Douglas, Tom (Sherry) of Hustler, Sarah (Kendall) Chapman of Oak City, Utah, a sister, Sandra (Don) Hess of Eau Claire, a brother, John (Jeanie) Gordon of Pasco, Washington, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a special nephew Michael Morgan of La Crosse. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, a daughter Becky Paul, sisters, Nancy Rima, Jennie Mae Durrua, Marlene Rawhouser, Meryle Morgan, and a granddaughter Regina Reynolds.
A private family interment will take place in the Hustler Cemetery. The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with arrangements. Online guestbook available at www.harefuneralhome.com
