James L. Negaard

James L. Negaard, age 51, of Necedah, died suddenly on Wednesday April 11, 2018.  James was the son of Lloyd and Anna (Hornburg) Negaard and was born on September 9, 1966 in Mauston, WI.  James graduated from Necedah High School in 1984, and then attended 2 years of technical college. James is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during Desert Storm and Panama.  James was united in marriage to Amanda Baumgart on April 16, 2005 at St. James Lutheran Church in Necedah.

He is survived by his wife Amanda of Necedah, his children, Isabell and Emma of Necedah, Sharlene (Luke) Ard of Tennessee, Douglas (Alyse) Negaard of Necedah, his mother Ann Hornburg of Necedah, step father Ken Hornburg of Necedah, sisters, Norma (Jim) Krubsack of West Bend, WI, Lori (Greg) Beattie of Brooklyn Park, MN, Joanne (Dave) Kaan of Fredonia, WI, grandchildren, Kalista Ard, Karson Ard, Douglas Negaard Jr., Zander Negaard, Colton Negaard, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd Negaard.

James loved spending time with his family. Especially with his girls, fishing and watching them play ball.  He enjoyed adventures with Mandy on his Harley and spending time with their girls.  James was a “Gentle Giant” who would help anyone at any time.  He was actively involved with the Wayne C. Chitwood VFW Post # 10231 of Necedah, WI.  He followed in his father’s footsteps of being an over the road truck driver for many years.  He later worked for Marquis Energy, and then for the Village of Necedah.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church (1106 S. Main St) in Necedah, with Pastor Roger Erdman presiding.   Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at St. James Lutheran Church from 3:00p.m. until 6:00p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Monday from 10:00a.m. until the time of service.   Burial with Military Honors by the Wayne C. Chitwood VFW Post # 10231 of Necedah will take place in the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Cemetery, in Necedah.  The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences available at www.harefuneralhome.com
