Jean Marian Reemtsma, 88, of New Lisbon, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Crestview Home.

Jean was born on October 27, 1928 on the family farm in Clarissa, Minnesota to Arthur and Minnie Nelson.  She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Orlyn, Clifford, Wallace, and Donald; her two sisters, Dorothy and Genevieve; a stillborn child; her granddaughter, Linnea; and her husband, Harold, in 1994.

After graduating as valedictorian from Clarissa High School, she attended Northwestern College in Minneapolis, where she met and married Harold Reemtsma.  After they graduated, they moved to Morris, MN, where Harold became the pastor at First Baptist Church.  Over the years, Harold also pastored churches at Waupaca, WI, Rockford, IL, and New Lisbon, WI. Jean loved the Lord, her husband, and serving others.  She was a friend, confidant, and counselor.  She enjoyed fishing, traveling, sewing, cooking, playing the piano, singing, teaching, and had written over fifty poems.  She was involved in Women’s Union and Homemakers.

Jean is survived by her son and his wife, Phil & Eileen, of Kenai, AK; son and his wife, Russ & Kathryn, of Clarkston, MI; daughter and her husband, Clint & Gail (Banz) of Lancaster, PA; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

As Bible distribution was important to Jean, in lieu of flowers, checks may be written to China Vision, c/o Calvary Baptist Church, 1380 S. Valley Forge Rd., Lansdale, PA  19446.  Please write "Reemtsma Memorial Gift" in the memo line.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 13, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 525 S. Washington St., New Lisbon, followed by a committal service at New Lisbon City Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at First Baptist Church on Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00.  Online guestbook available at www.harefuneralhome.com
