Jeanette R. Chase, age 79, of Camp Douglas died on Monday August 27, 2018 at Gundersen Lutheran Church Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. Jeanette was born to George and Hilda (Larson) Kruschke on May 10, 1939 on the family farm in Camp Douglas. After graduating high school, she learned how to teletype and went to work for United Airlines in Chicago’s O’Hare Airport for about 15 years, this is where she met her first husband Robert T. Rosenthal and they moved back to Camp Douglas and he preceded her in death in 1979. She later married Col Walter Chase and he preceded her in death in 1988. While in Camp Douglas she worked part time for Bernie’s IGA and later for Maggie’s Market. Most of her life was spent in Camp Douglas. She enjoyed helping to raise her grandchildren.
Jeanette is survived by 2 sons; Scott Rosenthal of Camp Douglas and David Rosenthal of Round Lake Beach, IL, and by 4 grandchildren; Jennifer Brockman of Sparta, WI, Kristine Ratzke of Round Lake Beach, IL, Stephanie Jackson of Lakeville, IL, and Thomas Rosenthal of Camp Douglas, WI, and step grandchildren Fred Baldwin and Elizabeth Hesse, and a brother Jerry Kruschke of Mazomanie, WI, 2 sisters; Alice Joy Weyrough of Twin Lakes, WI, and June Hicks of Sparta, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a daughter Debra Ann Brockman in 2005, brothers: Bud, Donald, Ralph, Laverne, and James, and 2 sisters; Helen Stillwell and Edie Jones.
Funeral services will be held on Friday August 31, 2018 at 11:00A.M. at the Hare Funeral Home (217 W. Pearl St.) in New Lisbon with Rev. Jeff Ruetten presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the Hare Funeral Home on Friday from 9:00A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Camp Douglas Village Cemetery.
