Joyce M. Steiskal, age 82 of New Lisbon, WI died on Thursday November 23, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro, WI.  Joyce was the daughter of Harvey and Mildred (Mielke) Jensen and was born on August 2, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois.  Joyce was raised in Chicago and graduated from the Academy of Our Lady School in 1953. 

Joyce was united in marriage to Sidney Waiting, and he preceded her in death in 1965.  She was later united in marriage to William W. Steiskal on August 19, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois.  They lived in Hanover Park, IL, and later moved to Brookfield, WI.

Joyce loved to read.  She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking.  The family, for years, would go to Point Bluff Resort and camp in the summer time.  In November of 1972 William and Joyce moved to New Lisbon and purchased the Airport Tavern and operated it for a while, and later they leased it out.

She is survived by her children, Ronald Steiskal of New Lisbon, Susan Steiskal of Hillsboro, Lisa Rethwisch of De Forest, Cheryl (Bobby) Godfrey of New Lisbon, Diane McNew of New Lisbon, and Cindy (Gene) Wesley of Texas, and Nancy (Larry) Knickelbein of New Lisbon, 12 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Sidney and William, 2 grandchildren Amanda Milheiser and John McNew, and 1 great grandchild Anthony Voltz.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at 5:00p.m. at the Hare Funeral Home (217 W. Pearl St) in New Lisbon, WI.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday at the Hare Funeral Home from 3:00p.m. until the time of service.  Rev.
