Kenneth J. Harris

Kenneth J. Harris, age 52 of New Lisbon, WI, died on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI.  Ken was the son of Jack and Katherine Jane (Sias), and was born on February 13, 1966, in Greenville, MI. 

Ken was born and raised in Belding, MI.  He graduated from Belding High School, as a Valedictorian in 1984.  He then went on to Michigan Tech and graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was then hired by the New Lisbon School as a Science Teacher and has taught school here for 29 years.

Ken enjoyed the University of Michigan Football, and the Detroit Lions. He was an avid reader. Ken’s whole life was dedicated to mentoring and educating students.   

Ken is survived by 4 siblings; Kerri (David) Milarch of Jenison MI, Jeffery (Robin) Harris of Jefferson OH, Terri Ralph of Ionia MI, and Sherry Whitted of Clute TX, and by his nieces and nephews, Tristan Milarch, Josh (Kristina) King, Stephan Jay Harris, Thurlene Frowerk, Cara Basusta, Brook Barnett, and many others, by his best friends Scott Lenz and Kali Berkseth, by his long time high school friend, George Rousseau, and 2 very special cats Phil and Spike.

He was preceded in death by his father Jack in 1991, mother Katherine in 1999, and a brother Bradley Robert Harris in 1999.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday March 29, 2018 from 3:00P.M. until 7:00P.M. at the New Lisbon High School (500 S. Forest St.) in New Lisbon, WI. There will be a short service at 5:00P.M. with several speakers and the High School Choir.  A time for the public to share stories will be at the top of every hour.  Memorials to the “New Lisbon High School Science Department” in Ken's honor would be appreciated.

Another Memorial Service is being planed for a later date in Belding, MI. The date and time will be announced later.

The Hare Funeral Home and the New Lisbon School and Teachers are assisting the family with services.
