Leonard L. Gilchrist

Leonard Leo Gilchrist, age 66, of New Lisbon, died on Sunday April 28, 2019 at Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston, WI.  Leonard was born on December 17, 1952 in Mauston to Leonard F. and Elizabeth M. (Bollig) Gilchrist.  Leonard graduated Mauston High School in 1971 and then attended college in La Crosse for 1 year.  He was raised in Mauston and moved to New Lisbon in 1976.  Leonard was married to Cecelia Delaney, and they had 3 children Becky, Andy, and Lisa, and they later divorced. 

Leonard was a U.S. Postal Carrier in Mauston for 29 years.  First and foremost, to Leonard was his children and grandchildren, he loved them dearly.  He was very active in the New Lisbon Lions Club for many years.  Leonard also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his family.

Leonard is survived by his 3 children; Becky (Tony) Berg of Mindoro WI, Andy (Christine) Gilchrist of Sauk City WI, and Lisa (Matt) Paulson of Mindoro WI, and by 5 grandchildren Marcus, Mitchell, Alanah, Emma, and Ethan, by his mother Elizabeth Gilchrist of Mauston WI, by 2 sisters; Linda Wright of California and Mary Gilchrist of Alabama, and a brother John (Tammy) Gilchrist of Mauston WI.  Leonard was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday May 5, 2019, at 3:00p.m. at the New Lisbon Community Center (110 Welch Prairie Rd) in New Lisbon.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday at the New Lisbon Community Center from 1:00p.m. until the time of service.  Memorials to the “Wisconsin Lions Camp”, 3834 County Rd.
