She was adept at gardening and raising chiles, tomatoes, and zucchini. She had a knowledge of herbs for seasoning and as home remedies. The family moved to the Midwest from California in 2000. A family dream came true when she and some of her family took a trip to France and Italy and had the privilege of front row seats for Mass in St. Peter’s square and seeing Pope Francis in person.
A devout Catholic, she was faithful to the Holy Mass every Sunday and to saying her prayers every morning and evening. She taught the Catholic faith to her children and grandchildren. She had a strong devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
