Harry Guzak Obituary

Harry James Guzak Jr. passed away on January 15th, 2022.  He was the beloved son of Harry James Guzak Sr. and Lillian Ruth Guzak.

Harry was born in Blue Island, Illinois, surrounded by a large and loving extended family.  Around 1962, his family relocated to New Lisbon, WI.  He graduated from New Lisbon High School in 1964, where he enjoyed playing football.    Rumor has it that he held a record for the longest punt in New Lisbon High history for quite some time.  He and his first wife, Joanne Mullen nee Lauden, raised their oldest and middle child in Blue Island from 1964-1967; they then moved to Elroy, WI, where their third child was born.  In 1978, the family settled in Watertown, WI.  In 1988, Harry moved back to the New Lisbon area with his second wife, Kaye Robertson.    Following their divorce, he continued to live on the family land that he loved so much.  Harry deeply loved his community and was so grateful to all the people who rallied to his side following a recent hospitalization, particularly his many faithful, life-long friends.

Harry was an avid sports fan (especially the Packers) and a sportsman.  He loved playing golf, football, baseball in his youth, and loved playing horseshoes with his family at the annual Boza family reunions in Illinois.  Hunting and fishing were a big part of his entire life.  Harry was known for having a huge sense of humor and always loved to make people laugh.  He also sung like an angel, and once proudly won an Elvis Presley singing contest.

Harry was a proud and hard-working father, a very devoted son, loving caretaker to his ailing mother and a trustworthy employee.

Harry is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Lillian, his oldest sister JoAnn, his son Brian and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Harry is survived by his two daughters: Tami Hans of Long Beach, California and Beth Goldstein (son-in-law Larry Goldstein) of Whitman, Massachusetts.  He leaves behind his youngest sister Vicki of New Lisbon and her three children and five grandchildren.  Harry is also survived by three grandchildren:  Anthony Guzak and Victoria Reviere, living in Florida, and Colin Guzak, currently residing in Mississippi. He leaves behind four great grandchildren, all living in Florida. He also leaves behind his deeply beloved companion of 20 years, Arvilla Novy.

The family would like to especially thank Anne Fenwick, PA for her loving devotion to his care over these many years and they would like to extend thanks to all the medical professionals who had his best interests at heart over the past 3 months.
