Leona H. Newstrom

Leona H. Newstrom, age 58 of New Lisbon, WI., passed away on Saturday, June 17th, 2023 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse.  Leona was the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Osilius) Newstrom and was born on September 12, 1964, in Kenosha, WI. 

Leona and her life partner Greg owned and operated Wonderlys Bar for many years.  Greg passed away in 2013 and Leona has been running it since.  

A woman of many talents and interests, Leona was an active member of the Frozen Butt Riders. Her passion for cooking led her to create countless delicious meals for family and friends. Leona also enjoyed calligraphy, a skill she used to create beautiful, handwritten notes and cards.

Leona's love for dance was evident to anyone who had the pleasure of seeing her on the dance floor. Her joy and enthusiasm were infectious, inspiring others to join in and share in the fun. Her bubbly and happy personality, along with her infectious laughter, will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Leona was known for her big heart and her willingness to help others in need. She believed in the power of kindness and compassion and demonstrated this through her actions every day. Those who were fortunate enough to know Leona will remember her as a loving, friendly, and kind soul.
 

Leona is survived by her children, Greg Wonderly of New Lisbon, TJ Olson of Kenosha, and Sunshine Feagins of Texas and her significant other Ron Haschke.  She was a beloved sister to Charles Vines, Anthony Vines, Edward Vines, Johanna Vandeville, Sophie Hood, Patricia Hron, Raymond Newstrom, and Robert Newstrom. Leona was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, and her lifelong partner, Stanton Gregory Wonderly.
