Marion L. (Johnson) Madison

On Thursday June 22, 2023, Marion Madison loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 84 in Hillsboro, WI, at Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Marion was born July 2, 1938, to Trueman C. and Iva (Shaw) Johnson in Angelo, WI.  Marion was united in marriage to LeRoy A. Madison on August 15, 1958, in Sparta, WI.  They had been married for 64 years, which is a long time to be in love and the love for Marion will never fade.

Marion raised children, lots of them, she was a Sunday school teacher at the United Methodist Church in Camp Douglas, she also did laundry for people at Volk Field Air Base in Camp Douglas.  Marion had a passion for dancing, there’s no rhythm that Marion couldn’t dance to.  Her poetry made publication many books, and the poems have touched so many over the years. While living in Union Center she wrote 2 books about the history of Union Center, WI.  She enjoyed the relaxation of playing cards with friends and her husband.  Her compassionate spirit never let anyone leave her house hungry, even if you weren’t hungry, she’d make you eat something.

She is survived by her husband LeRoy of Hillsboro, WI, daughters Terri Madison of Lyndon Station, WI and Toni Madison of Hillsboro, WI, grandchildren, Kylea Stilson, J’me Stokes, Jessi Wetley, great-grandchildren Darren, Jade, and Nicholas.  Marion was preceded in death by her parents, sister Camilla and Cleta, brother Henry, nephews Gary Bolar and Robbie Pollock.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 27, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hare Funeral Home (217 W. Pearl St.)  in New Lisbon with Rev. Deb Burkhalter presiding.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the Hare Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Sparta, WI.  Online condolences are available at www.harefuneralhome.com.
