Marjorie Kirton Obituary

Marjorie L. Kirton, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2023, in Mauston, WI. Born on September 7, 1949, in Chicago, IL, Marjorie was known for her kind nature, thoughtful gestures, and analytical mind.

Marjorie was a proud graduate of Clairmont High School in Twin Lakes, WI, and later attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Here, she earned her degree in Nursing, a field in which she would spend many years serving her community. Marjorie's career as a mental health professional was a testament to her compassion and dedication. She worked at the Mendota Health Facility in Madison for many years and later for the Veteran's Hospital in Tomah, WI, where her contributions were greatly appreciated.

In her personal life, Marjorie found joy in a variety of hobbies. An avid quilter, she spent many hours creating beautiful pieces of art. She also enjoyed the challenge of puzzles, finding satisfaction in the process and the final result. Traveling was another passion of Marjorie's. She loved to explore new places, immerse herself in different cultures, and make memories with her family. Marjorie was also a devoted fan of the Wisconsin Badgers Hockey team, rarely missing a game.

She leaves behind a beautiful family who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Her children, Regina Hoffman of Mauston, Jennifer Kerton of North Freedom, WI, Rebecca Kirton of Mauston, WI, and Jeffrey Kirton of North Freedom, WI, fondly remember their mother's love and guidance. Her grandchildren, Jaime Gollmar, Nick Gollmar, Katie Wilde, Sara Hoffman, Brook Hoffman, Leo Hoffman, and Dennis Aiello, have been blessed with countless memories of their beloved grandmother. Marjorie's joy was multiplied by her great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Alaric, Aurora, Riain, Adelaide, and Lucy, who brought immense happiness to her later years.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a three-month-old son. Despite these losses, she remained a pillar of strength for her family.

She will be remembered not only for her professional contributions but also for the love and warmth she brought into the lives of her family and friends.

As we say goodbye, we also celebrate a life well-lived and the enduring legacy of a remarkable woman. The family is honoring her wish to not have a service. The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with her cremation.
