Robert L. Olson

Robert L. Olson age 81 of Mauston, WI.  died on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at his home in Mauston.  Robert was the son of Melvin and Dorothy (Howland) Olson and was born in Mauston, Wisconsin.  Robert went to elementary school in Mauston and his family later bought a dairy farm in Wilton in 1953, where he continued his schooling in Wilton. 

After school Robert joined the United States Army National Guard.  After returning from the military, he went to school to become an appliance repair technician.  He had several jobs including farm work, factory work and driving truck for Overgaard and Keene’s Transfer.  He was united in marriage to Patricia Bigalow on August 2nd of 1961.

Robert is survived by his children, Julie Williams of Elroy, John Olson of New Lisbon, Robert D. Olson of Texas, Hollee Olson of Ohio and by his siblings, Albert (Geraldine) Olson of Reedsburg, Darlene Benish of Kendall, Dorothy Bennett of New Lisbon, Mary Bennett of Mather, Kenneth (Pansie) Olson of Adams, Fred (Sandra) Olson of Kendall and a sister-in-law Pat Olson of Tomah.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia, daughter Christine Lynn Olson, brother Marvin Olson, sister Ruthann Rurup and grandson Daniel and a grandson Mike Peterson. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Winding Rivers Church in New Lisbon.  The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences are available at www.harefuneralhome.com
