Stanley J. Garfoot

Stanley J. Garfoot age 73 of Mauston, WI., died on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse.  Stanley was the son of Jerome and Constance Garfoot and was born on October 22, 1949 in Cross Plains, WI.                 

After graduating high school, Stanley enlisted in the United States Air Force.  While in the Philippines he met and later married Clara, to this union they had three children, Lisa, Tim and Beth.  Stanley and Clara later divorced.  He moved to Adams, then to Wonewoc and later to Mauston, where he met Elizabeth Glasson Saylor and they married on December 10, 2016 in Necedah, WI.  Stanley worked at Kwik Trip in Mauston as the head cashier for 29 years.

Stanley enjoyed watching NASCAR, westerns, Star Trek and Star Wars.  He liked playing on the computer and liked eagles.  He enjoyed crocheting, making numerous baby blankets, sweaters and a dress with a jacket and booties for a confirmation outfit. 

Stanley is survived by his wife Elizabeth Saylor Garfoot of Mauston, his children, Lisa Tim, Beth, Jim and Gladys, eight brothers and sisters, Scott, Spencer, Sarah, Sally, Susan, Shelly, Sandy and Sharon, many grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, Allie, Alex, Ryan and Colin, a sister-in-law Cathy Glasson and by many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

There are no services being planned.  The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with arrangements.
