Thomas L. Slater, age 66 of Wisconsin Rapids, WI., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023, at Aspirus Riverside Hospital with his family by his side. Thomas was the son of Ervin and Ellen (DeFord) Slater and was born on April 12, 1956, in Tomah, WI.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was camping, fishing, hunting or just sitting around and enjoying a meal. He loved to watch scary movies, marvel movies and sing to the radio in the car.
Tom is survived by his two sisters, Gloria (Bill) Darr of Babcock, WI. and Mary Turner of Tomah, WI., and by two sisters-in-law, Rita Slater of Lyndon Station, and Carol Slater of Chicago. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Arthur Slater Sr., Ervin Slater Jr., Robert Slater, Ernest Slater, David Slater, Louis Slater, Larry Slater and Richard Slater, his sisters, Lavina Williams, Betsy Slater, Vivian Slater, and Sandra Peterson, three brothers-in-law Roy “Jack” Williams, Vernon “John” Peterson and David Turner. and sister-in-law Virginia Babcock Slater.
A special thank you to his caregiver Mindy for her love and compassion for taking great care of Tom. Mindy you are truly an angel! Thank you so much!
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hare Funeral Home (217 W. Pearl St) in New Lisbon. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday at the Hare Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Mather.
