Karl Creager Gehrig, age 82, of New Lisbon, WI, graduated to Heaven to be with his Savior & King on Friday May 26th, 2017.  Karl lived a long, full life.  He wore many hats in his lifetime, son, husband, son-in-law, father, grandfather & great grandfather.

Karl was born on March 5, 1935 in Washington IN, to Jean DeForest and Alice Mell (Creager) Gehrig.  Karl was united in marriage to Julia Armstrong on October 28, 1954 in Richmond IN, and they were blessed with 3 children; Steven, Mary, and Paul.

Karl served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He also was a member of the Air Force Civil Servant with an FAA Pilot license and worked at a radar station.  Karl was a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute, an associate pastor at Oak Forest Baptist Temple, and a deacon at Lone Rock Baptist Church.  He was a bus director & visitation leader.  Karl was the founding Pastor of Victory Baptist Church, and Missionary to the deaf.  Karl enjoyed nature and the outdoors, and he loved to fish. Karl and his wife Julia, who preceded him in death in 2013, loved to travel, they traveled all over the world, they traveled with the military and as servants of God in the deaf ministry.

Karl is survived by his children; Steven (Patti) Gehrig of Alsip IL, Maryalice (Pastor Ray) Anderson New Lisbon WI, and Paul (Brenda) Gehrig of Lockport IL, and by 8 grandchildren; Julie (Raymond) Walker, Martha Gehrig, William (Marissa) Gehrig, Raymond (Amber) Anderson, Charity (Jason) Brannan, Joy (Ezra) Day, Samantha (Ryan Grooms) Gehrig, Paul Gehrig, and by great grandchildren; Raymond Jr., Shae, Jacob, Ian, Nicholas, Cortney, Katie, Cameron Grooms, and Ethan.  Karl is also survived by his fearless protector and loving dachshund, Oscar.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Julia.

Karl loved his family and was a fantastic prayer warrior.  He definitely fought a good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith.

Memorials may be given to the family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at 11:00a.m. at the Lone Rock Baptist (N8197  6th Ave.) New Lisbon, WI.  Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 9:00a.m. till the 11:00a.m. time of service.  Burial with Military Honors will be in the Orange Township Cemetery.   The Hare Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.  Online condolences are available at www.harefuneralhome.com
